This bowl is deep rich brown with darker streaks running through out, the sapwood makes a nice contrast against the dark hardwood. Decorative texturing was added to the bottom. It is finished with food safe walnut oil, waxed and buffed.
The tree was damaged in a windstorm in May 2012, South Carolina. We salvage the wood, dried it and turn it into this lovely bowl.
To keep this bowl in good condition, wipe down with a damp cloth with a small amount of soap and warm water and wipe dry with a kitchen towel. When this bowl start to look dull or dried out wipe down with a small amount of mineral or walnut oil found in your supermarket, let set a few minutes and wipe out any excess oil. This will refresh your bowls color and luster back to its original state.
